The Body Church is:
One Body, many parts– a community of believers from all walks of life, unique in God-given individual expression, and united in Christ- “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” – (1 Corinthians 12:12-13 NKJV)
Dedicated to One Lord– a community of believers fully submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, growing in the knowledge of Christ, and committed to understanding and doing the will of God- “…Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.” – (Ephesians 5:23b NKJV); “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.” – (1 Samuel 15:22 NKJV); “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” – (2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV); “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” – (John 4:23-24 NKJV)
Empowered by One Spirit!- a community of believers activated by God’s Spirit for transformational living, to carry out the will of God throughout the earth and to demonstrate His love for all mankind– “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – (Acts 1:8 NKJV); “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” – (Romans 8:14 NKJV); “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world… If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.” – (1 John 4:4, 12-13 NKJV)
